So you accept that the DfT figures show that cycling is increasing in London, and is now one third above 2019 levels? DfT regional figures for London: 1993 272100000 1994 278400000 1995 283300000 1996 290100000 1997 289100000 1998 274400000 1999 280900000 2000 285100000 2001 303200000 2002 312000000 2003 337000000 2004 324400000 2005 365200000 2006 392600000 2007 364100000 2008 385900000 2009 390000000 2010 395800000 2011 392100000 2012 395600000 2013 374100000 2014 411200000 2015 408500000 2016 506300000 2017 500500000 2018 518000000 2019 467800000 2020 697700000 2021 647200000 2022 605800000 2023 627800000 London saw an average of £24 per head spending on cycling infrastructure in the 5 years after from 2016 to 2021 while the rest of the county saw £10 a head. Comparing the year after this period of spending to the year before, 2022 to 2015, cycling in London grew by 48% compared to 11% for the rest of the country. I presume you accept these figures as well. |
