| From the rounded percentages given, it's possible to work out that this survey covered 60% of the 164 households on Park and Staveley Roads. Even if all of 40% that didn't respond thought the traffic had become worse and wanted the barriers removed, that would still be a minority position. Compared to the previous survey of the same residents, the results also show that support for the barrier has increased over time as residents have enjoyed an improved quality of life. It appears that the interests of the residents on these roads were rather better represented by Hanif Khan than by their previous local councillors, as I'm sure Councillor Croft has noted. These results are in line with all other market research surveys undertaken on active travel measures, both locally and in London. Support for the barrier and its effect on traffic should therefore not be much of a surprise. |
