Um, er, uh...doesn't this pretty much shoot in the foot the need for cycle lanes?

If £18 billion was spent on a spiffy new rail line enticing riders, won't some of those riders be cyclists and therefore not be cycling as much? Won't the opening of Crossrail impact the overall balance?

Side note: I love that we're just turning a blind eye to the significant delays and cost over runs generated, in part, by the atrocious inability of TfL to manage themselves.
