The cycle lanes and LTNS encourage only a few to leave their cars at home. Car use is increasing and more and more youngsters are applying for Driving Tests. Cycle lanes are generally grossly underused. Car manufacturers are rapidly meeting the challenge of producing eco friendly cars and people are wanting them and queuing for them even at the current high prices. When EV prices drop, and it is accepted that cars don't pollute, the cycle industry will fail. People want freedom and spontaneity to travel in comfort. |
