| They're unfortunately taking down this morning the largest tree on the east side of Acton Green, the horse chestnut opposite Newton Grove. I had a chance to chat to the head arborist of the team and he was very sad having to remove such a beautiful tree and surprised by the speed of the die back having inspected it a year ago, but it was irrecoverable. He also told me that the horse chestnut two along that's been pollarded had lost a limb as it had been allowed to become too top heavy. The fall had damaged the very close neighbouring smaller tree which was removed. The pollarding should allow it better to recover. |
