| Do you tree half-way between the Avenue and Newton Grove? That dropped a large branch a couple of months ago, it looks like from disease or pests. It's now been pollarded, maybe to see if that allows it to recover. There's a magnificent tree opposite Newton Avenue that died back completely this spring. This has not been touched so far, I can only guess to see if it might recover. On the other hand it is right above the footpath, so there's a real risk if it doesn't. The biggest threats to the trees on Acton Green are from disease and pests, not the Council. Unfortunately these threats have been exacerbated by both climate change and pollution. |
