| Councils rarely, if ever, chop trees down and can and do come down hard on people who don't go through the proper processes, however, if a tree is diseased, dying or dead they will fell them for safety purposes. Some trees of course are the subject of tree preservation orders (TPO) which do require permission to be sought before any works are done. Good idea to check with local councillors. |
