| Due to the problem with the Leaf Miner pest, damaging the leaves of the Horse Chestnut, might it be better to replant with the Asian Horse Chestnut - specimens to be seen just inside the entrance of Kew Gardens, and in some of the gardens of Cambridge Road North W4. It is an equally beautiful tree, and appears to be immune to the ravages of the Leaf Miner. The conkers are even more beautiful with lovely veining, and as it flowers a little later than the European Horse Chestnut, it makes its nectar and pollen available for the pollinators a little longer into the season. |
