The debate initially was around retirement age, not sure how its gone onto benefits being cut. Where do you stand on the retirement age, do you think that it should stay at 65, and if so for how long? Or is it reasonable that the pension age should rise according to life expectancy? I think it should, and it is overdue. The cost of pensions is funded by current tax payers, not by some mythical pot of money set aside from previous decades of national insurance contributions. All NI contributions do is entitle you to the state pension as dictated by the government of the day. |
