Rob, did you find out any more about this? On the notice outside the existing playground, the plan shows the 'existing play area' and the 'proposed new play area'. The proposed new play area is shown as taking a triangular chunk out of the large common - it is flanked by the path running from Fishers Lane bridge to Chiswick Back Common Road, the main path running from Fishers Lane to Turnham Green Terrace and, on the third side, the Common itself. It is not clear as to whether the existing play area is staying or not (and the existing play area is larger than proposed). The notice says " The new play area for Chiswick Back Common is due to built in the Spring 2013 and we welcome your thoughts as to what you would like to see in the new play area. Send us your thoughts by December 21st" Nothing about comments on whether you are happy to 'lose' a section of the Common. |
