There are some good eating places in Hammersmith - Thai on King Street, Mexican, Morroccan etc near to the Appollo and the Gate (Vegetarian) is tucked away so probably not known to everyone. The biggest difference in Hammersmith and Chiswick is that there seem to be more places to eat al fresco in Chiswick and of course you have that georgeous ice cream parlour down Turnham Green Terrace? Wish it was in Hammersmith. I don't think Hammersmith is a Clone Town so much as there is not really much of anything. Primark and a few boutiques (these are a bit sameish), but different types of eateries - too many phone shops - the best shop used to be where Primark is now - was it the Co-op? It had everything in there including furniture and white goods. Westfield has become the main place to shop now though because it has a good atmosphere, so many seem to say. |
