Jane, aside from the point I would argue that it isn't far from Chiswick House Grounds, the type of accommodation provided isn't conventional housing, it's temporary accommodation for individuals, so private amenity space isn't necessary or appropriate. As for approaching local Councillors, of course they can be copied into any correspondence, but they are not able to express a view etc. as other they would be essentially predetermining the planning application. I am not sure of Hounslow latest's scheme of delegation, but given that the application property is owned by the Council I would have thought the final decision would have needed to have been made by the Sustainable Development Committee, rather than by the local Chiswick Area Committee - but I could well be wrong on that, as I say it depends on what the Scheme of Delegation says - Sean Doran will be able to confirm either way. I have to say that in my professional opinion, having looked through the design and access statement today, I hadn't got any planning objections to the application, I think it's quite a strong, well presented application...sorry :-o
