I'll try to help Robin, but in reality, have you thought about living somewhere where they've done away with democracy - you don't seem to be able to cope with other people having different viewpoints. "why it is that an unadulterated political lie should go unchallenged on Wikipedia. Because that is what the assertion about Powell attracting five million votes to the Tories is." Leaving aside that grown-ups surely have better things to do than correct Wikipedia entries (a site that taught me that Ben Fogle's family fortune was based on his grandfather's invention of crotchless panties!), I would say that the Wikipedia quote you give is not a lie - this person apparently did make this statement (unless you believe the statement to be invented?) The entry does not say that the speech added votes. It merely passes on the fact that someone has published an opinion that it did. If you have a recorded fact that you wish to draw attention to, I'm sure you won't have a problem writing it up. You'll just have to do a bit better than dressing up your opinion or hearsay as fact. |
