... Yes, I fear it does seem like a slow motion train crash. But fear not, when a general election is called there is almost always a correction in the polls in favour of the governing party - because people are then faced with the stark choice of who they really want in power (rather than the hypothetical choice asked by the pollsters). At the moment, we're 15% behind and the correction will not be enough to close the gap. But remember, Ann Keen's constituency has a significant pro-Labour bias compared to the national average - because of the large estates in Isleworth and Brentford and the substantial Asian community in Hounslow. Combined with progressive Chiswickians, we can still pull it out. |
