| My understanding is that there are two aspects to increasing the loadbearing capability of the bridge, the restoration of the mechanism that supports the platform and the platform or roadway itself. If the Structures Fund money is received, this will go towards restoring and repairing the bridge mechanism but this alone won't necessarily improve the bridge's weight bearing ability therefore it might be optimistic to expect ambulances and hopper style buses on the bridge by 2030. |
