| Jeremy, the best long term answer is a new bridge. It is just a question of time before it is life expired. In the meantime money needs to be found to pay for life support. I am puzzled. Using buses carrying many people in one journey would discourage more sustainable forms of travel. Really? Walking and cycling perhaps but following that logic would you scrap all bus routes? No,of course not. "technical challenges" ? Hardly rocket science to charge an extra quid on crossing routes. I like to think I am a pragmatist and I am working on the basis that the bridge will never open to all traffic. The best we can hope for is a fully functioning bus service paid for by the people that use it. |
