| The BBC report makes mention that her son had an accident and the court ruled that a trust must be setup for the compensation he received. It is to this trust that she ‘sold’ her share of the house hence receiving funds from his trust fund. Either way from a tax prospective she still has ownership in the property. Shoosmith have distanced themselves from her. So the big question whoever she used either got it wrong or she did not declare all the facts about the trust. HMRC approach is negligence or incompetence is no defence, she is responsible for her tax affairs. Goes back to what i was saying she should have done her homework and educated herself even when using a professional. If she is not bright enough to do that she certainly is not capable of being an MP. |
