The very simple point evidenced by Barnes (pre-COVID) and Northcote Road (post-COVID) is that restrictions on cars have lead to increased retail sales on the high street. I completely agree with you the council should have been much more proactive in helping retailers exploit this opportunity, and Wandsworth shows what's possible. I also hope that Hounslow make extra efforts to catch up given that time is very much of the essence. |
