Of course the effects of COVID are entangled with the traffic restrictions as far as any changes in turnover are concerned. That's what makes the Barnes experience so relevant as being both local and very recent. Clearly traffic restrictions led to a boost in business there, independent of COVID. That's very relevant evidence, and not from "my 'data'" but rather from information gathered by the Barnes Community Association. If the evidence had been the other way round, you would have been able to claim it as backing your case that car traffic and high-street retail go together. Do you have an explanation as to why Barnes saw an increase in retail sales despite a fall in car traffic? |
