It's an interesting point about the lack of communal buildings. It already seems to be a problem in South Acton even before many of the flats already approved are occupied.  Shops as well looks set to be an issue - the TfL CGI images seem to envisage lots of trendy cafes. At the moment the development just has one branch of Sainsbury's Local.

The prices are higher at these smaller branches so those with cars are probably going to drive to Acton or Chiswick to do their main shop and those without will get it delivered. Anybody who wants to walk to do their shopping will be required to pay a premium.
