I don't think you can avoid this bill, as it involves dental work on an animal which is clearly going to get worse (i.e. more expensive) over time. If you pay the only the quoted amount, the vet's practice will probably sue you in the Small Claims Track of the County Court. If it gets to a hearing, the Judge is unlikely to let you rely on a quote which is 9 months old, the vet is likely to succeed in their claim, and you will have to pay their costs. As the bill is much higher than you were expecting, I'd suggest you negotiate a payment plan with the vet. |
