I still find it amazing quite how many of Chiswick's residents submit planning applications without first speaking to their neighbours and taking a genuine interest in their suggestions and concerns. In my experience even when neighbours cannot agree on what is "reasonable" the opportunity or even just the offer to discuss things before plans are set in stone will be much appreciated and can even form the basis of lasting friendships. Like so many things in life just because you can legally do something (to your house) doesn't mean that you should do it. |
