Andy, you are absolutely right, I have no idea why any works were deemed necessary - as far as I could see, the road was fine - I never spotted any potholes etc. By the way - the works dates were actually supposed to be 26th - 29th May, not 24th as I previously mentioned - it should have all been done within four days.

Elizabeth, I've been wondering what's going on with Rupert Road as pass on my evening walks - the whole set up seems to me completely shambolic. I dread to think how long Chiswick residents are going to be subjected to this disruption with so many more roads apparently lined up for "works".
