I moved to west London to make a regular commute out of London easier. And I enjoyed that quick 'get home' when landing in LHR for 8 years.
I've now moved out of the UK but I'm still doing some work in London. Its interesting to get that new perspective on flying to London when you don't live there. I now prefer GTW - easier to get around the airport, quicker and cheaper to get into London. And a choice - Victoria or London Bridge. Sure the south terminal at GTW needs investment - as does the rail station. But LHR is too big, too busy and the tube there is slow while the express is costly. Go Gatwick.
