As Churchill said: 'Many forms of Government have been tried, and will be tried in this world of sin and woe. No one pretends that democracy is perfect or all-wise. Indeed it has been said that democracy is the worst form of Government except for all those other forms that have been tried from time to time.' … You apparently have a quarrel with one or three of your local Cllrs and then use that as an excuse to attack the other 57. Sheer demagoguery. As to your comment about Cllrs allowances and 'it going with the territory' it is a fundamental democratic principle that all should be able to become Cllrs and MPs, without needing a private income. |
