“Councillor Curran also said in his letter to the Evening Standard "in the year we celebrate our golden anniversary as a London borough, the Rugby World Cup takes place on our doorstep. Our schools have an outstanding track record.” Err – is Cllr Curran the Leader of Hounslow Council or......??? GoWest London reports somewhat differently if primary schools are also schools. I wouldn't think coming 31st out of 32 in London is outstanding, I would suggest it is shocking but perhaps Cllr Curran has low aspirations for the Borough. http://www.getwestlondon.co.uk/news/local-news/hounslows-secondary-schools-best-london-8270439 “Hounslow's secondary schools are the best in the country, but their primary schools are the second worst in London, according to a new league table. The borough is one of just five in the capital with 100 per cent of their schools rated 'good' or 'oustanding' by Ofsted. However, only 69 per cent of its primary schools have achieved one of the top two grades, an annual report published yesterday by the inspection agency shows. That puts it 31st out of 32 London boroughs.” |
