I guess a developer will always try to point to the idea that they are beholden to their shareholders to maximise their profits. AS for council regulation it's the council who have to defend those - sadly of course they don't have the same financial resources as the developers to do this - and why bother when Boris or Eric Pickles will do the developers bidding and overrule any planning objections. I'm not an expert in sketchup or maybe minecraft but I think that someone who is could quite easily build a virtual model of this and generate walkthroughs to show what it would really look like from all nearby points. In fact maybe the council could create a free virtual model of Hounslow that developers could pay to use to show their developments. Anyone could get a walkthrough on you tube and make up their mind about how it looks. |
