i'd like to thank those at CRAG who have put time and effort into this i also looked into this a little and could comment on many different aspects but maybe better to focus on one i think it likely that this only phase 1 of a 4 phase development i think that these developments (all phases) could change the low-rise village character of Chiswick forever i think the Empire House/Lend Lease development is only the first glimpse of a much bigger master plan for the centre of Chiswick which we are not privvy too here is what my musings are based on ('evidence' can of course only be supplied 'after the fact') i went to the first consultation and heard from one of the representatives of one of partners of Lend Lease that the there will be development on the area with the market stalls also he didn't get to answer my further questions on this as the lady project manager in charge at Lend Lease dashed over and shut him down double quick she said it is nothing to do with them and they can't talk about it i have since also heard that at least one stall holder has had council officers talk to him about moving away to a new pitch as the front of Sainsbo's will be part of a bigger development and there is a rumour also that another piece of the plan is Sainsburys car park will be developed when the lease runs out in some years time hence it is my opinion, that this development is only the tip of the iceberg, the rest is invisable to us hence, i am very grateful for people at CHRAG investing their time and energy to try their best to minimise what may only be the start of a much bigger development to come in my view, that is the bigger picture here |
