I asked Petcare if I could come and meet them to just chat about putting one of my animals with them who needs blood tests every three weeks rather than keep trekking over to Richmond as it was many years since I left and I thought there had probably been a change of personnel etc and perhaps their costs were now more aligned with other vets in the area. I just wanted to know about how they would be with certain requirements I have for my animals, like only vaccinating for most things every three years instead of every year, and I had a number of other questions including about costs. They wanted to charge me a full consultation fee, just to chat, not to see an animal, whereas other vets were happy to give you ten minutes or so to talk through things before you made a decision. I decided that their focus on money was not a practice I wanted my animals to be with. Although I do know they have helped out with rescue animals over the years, as I guess most vets do. |
