It's not permanent one-party government. The myth of "lose Scotland and get a Tory majority in perpetuity" is just that, it wouldn't've changed anything in 1997, 2001 & 2005, in fact (I'll have to dig the reference up) but I recall reading that it would've only changed the result twice in the last 50 odd years. Furthermore to my mind if it did result in a more collaborative rather than adversarial system that would be no bad thing.
