I can see that possibly it is in Serco's interest to "sell" as much road space as possible to the contractor, whether TW or any other. Perhaps they make margin on the revenue. I also get that the Contractor doesn't care about the inconvenience to Residents and can pass costs on. But surely it is down to the Council to set some sensible regulation and rules in place to ensure that tax and permit paying residents aren't overly inconvenienced by ludicrous suspensions? I reckon that the Council is effectively getting paid twice for the same amenity, so are quite happy to let it go on rather than enforcing common sense. That is where my complaints will be directed, but to whom, I wonder. |
