Initially there was a problem with one of the pipes that needed replacing, along with a valve. The work was contracted out to Cappagh Brown, who allegedly carried out the necessary work, but when the work was checked out by Thames Water, the valve had not been replaced, and Cappagh Brown was told to replace the valve as originally requested. This work will apparently start on Sept 10 and should be finished by Sept 12.
The problem did not arise because of any failings by Thames Water, but because of Cappagh Brown not doing the job properly in the first place.
