You obviously have a far greater understanding of all of this than I do. (I try!) However, one survey doth not a summer make. There are no doubt surveys out there which paint the Scots as a 'bitter, resentful and vindictive people seething with anger' or something along those lines. Bottom line is, I don't understand why anybody would think it reasonable, in the case of a currency union, that the rUK, should be left in the position of bailing out an independent Scotland should the need ever arise. As somebody else on the forum has pointed out, it is unlikely that the favour could be returned. What fair-minded person, from anywhere in the current Union, would find that an acceptable proposition? And if one considers that the inherent risks to the rUK of a currency union are too great, does this make one a 'bitter, resentful and vindictive' person 'seething with anger'? I think not. |
