You could bail out any of that lot with the spare change down the back of the sofa, Scotland would be somewhat more problematic, but doable, point being they wouldn't be able to return the favour. Furthermore I don't see how they would be "independent" when tied to the currency of the rUK, this is more the "devo-max" option that Salmond was pushing for to include as an option in the referendum until reminded what "Scottish National Party" actually meant. No issue with them using the pound independently, and also no issue if they want to go, their choice, obviously, but I fail to see, why, if they vote to leave why we should remain their guarantor of last resort. Stand on your own two feet, if that is what you want. |
