What I can't understand is why legislation regarding the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011, states that: 'A police and crime panel may suspend the relevant police and crime commissioner if it appears to the panel that— (a) the commissioner has been charged in the United Kingdom, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man with an offence, and (b) the offence is one which carries a maximum term of imprisonment exceeding two years'. So he can't even be suspended let alone sacked. He really thinks he's doing a wonderful job, and he's not to blame for anything. In a BBC interview he spoke like a robot, and I lost count of the number of times he said 'lessons have been learnt'. |
