| Well we agree on some things then, in the current economic climate unemployment goes across the social spectrum. The only way we can ever resolve these dilemmas is to allow councils to build again and I understand they are going to be allowed to keep money from any 'Right to Buy' sales now, though I suspect that is not much nowadays. Councils have to be given the freedom to build for rent, part rent/part buy and also sale if that is found to be the best way. I think people with properties too big for them will move to smaller accomodation within their familiar area, if it were at all possible, no-one wants to see families in cramped flats when there are larger houses under-occupied. Until and unless we have a massive building programme we can't solve anything, it is one of the areas where the Government has really let people down. We also have to get this property owner mentality in proportion like many other countries. |
