“Possibly, and I'd hope if they were spotted by a police officer they'd get a good talking to.” And I’d hope these menaces on our roads get a lot more than a good talking to! They wouldn’t understand a ‘good talking to’. Only way to deal with the miscreants is to prosecute them. Cycling on a road in a dangerous or careless manner is an offence under the Road Traffic Act 1998, under section 28(2) and Section 29, as amended by the 1991 Act. Talking on a mobile phone while cycling is dangerous and careless. They can be fined up to £2500. |
