| You can't overtake a vehicle unless you are going faster than it - I think we can all agree on that. If the vehicle you want to overtake is driving at the speed limit then unless you are an emergency vehicle responding to an incident, you should not be overtaking it. If the vehicle is proceeding at less than the speed limit, and you can't overtake it safely without exceeding the speed limit then again you shouldn't be overtaking it, as that would involve doing something that was illegal. If it is safe to overtake it while keeping to the speed limit, then you can do so. |
