| Syon Lane in particular gets people commuting to Sky and other businesses along the Great West Road as well as locals commuting. 21/22 figures will have been affected by Covid. For 18/19, Chiswick was still the least used station in Hounslow, 26% less than Syon Lane and 18% less than Isleworth. The Tesco / Homebase development means over 2000 new homes in Isleworth. It looks like you have a classic case of Chiswick exceptionalism.. The facts are: - there are no large employers near Chiswick station - there are no large new housing developments - there are no significant attractions drawing people from outside the area (shops, cinemas, football stadiums..) - the local population in Chiswick is flat/declining in comparison to population growth elsewhere in the borough. This is why the Chiswick wards were redrawn. But according to you, there are no other reasons. |
