To be honest when you hear of some of the horror stories of children starting school and not being toilet trained you do wonder what some people are doing. I would have thought that being able to feed themselves, speak and maybe know a few numbers and the alphabet and be able to put their coats on isn't too much to ask. I was reading about some 'expert' who said toilet training shouldn't be approached until at least the age of two! I potty trained both my boys from birth, if they've always been used to something then it's much easier than suddenly expecting a big change in behaviour. But then the incentive was terry nappies that had to be boiled to keep them white, no disposables. I have lost count of the amount of people with babies and toddlers in pushchairs faffing around on their 'phones and totally ignoring the child, no wonder some of them can't speak properly. None of this is rocket science. |
