Plans for the level crossings are dependent on progress of the West London Orbital Rail project which would connect Hounslow to the London Overground using the northern level crossing on Bollo Lane which is currently used for freight. The project is still in planning. As with most rail projects, it would cost £Bs and even if funding was obtained, implementation wouldn't be until the 2030s. Project documentation referred to closure of level crossings on Bollo Lane and Churchfield Rd Acton as the increased frequency of trains means these would no longer be viable for motor traffic. There was reference to provision of bridges for walking and cycling. https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/about-tfl/how-we-work/planning-for-the-future/west-london-orbital |
