| I have objected on two grounds: (1) I agree with you that the flats should be designed for year-round living, not cramped term-time only "student" rooms, with insufficient shared spaces and no parking, etc. (2) Why demolish the Chiswick Auction Rooms? The owners should retro-fit new accommodation into this existing building on Chiswick High Road. We are supposed to be reducing, not increasing, the amount of carbon dioxide produced, including in the building industry. Demolishing and rebuilding is a very wasteful way to produce new housing. |
