| Let me add my ten pen'orth. About a week ago I watched a very dodgy young man (about 15 years old) walking along CHR from the direction of Chiswick Roundabout towards Acton Lane. He was carrying a top-of-the-range MTB on his shoulder. There were no punctures. I saw him as he passed "The Italians". It was so obviously "wrong", so I got up and followed him. As he passed Chiswick Park station I asked a stranger if I could borrow his mobile, and dialled 999. Lots of silly questions from the Call Handler, after which time boy and bike had disappeared out-of-sight after walking under the railway bridge that crosses Acton Lane (I couldn't follow any further because I was talking to the 999 handler on the stranger's phone). Two things. One, the sheer blatancy of it. Two, How inept the Call Handling process was. |
