A few years ago my Grandad (age 88) became the main carer for my Granny as she had a brain tumour and was in bed 24/7. My mum and her brothers visited regularly but distance meant they couldn't be there on a daily basis. On one such trip my mum watched as my Grandad spend ages separating the rubbish out into 6 different containers. On seeing this my mum phoned up the council (not local to here) and told them that my 88 year old Grandad who was a full time carer was wasting time sorting out their rubbish. They being sensible informed my mum that my Grandad didn't need to do it anymore and put a slicker on his bin to inform the bin men. Pity all councils don't do that for those struggling! |
