Do you remember your O'Level physics? Kinetic energy = Mass x Velocity squared. Your monster truck weighs 2,200kg or thereabouts - a Ford Focus (considered by most people as an average sized car) weighs roughly half that. This means that in the stop start traffic that we experience in towns your vehicle needs nearly twice as much fuel as an average sized car - all other things being equal. A two ton truck will also cause a great deal more damage to our roads than an urban friendly vehicle. The width (as we have already discussed) is likely to cause obstructions. The risk homeostasis effect on drivers surrounded by two tons of Teutonic tin is a danger to all vulnerable road users. Other than that I have no problem with your car at all. |
