I’d guess that the majority of people don’t go round measuring the width of CPZ bays when choosing a car. I remember Chris expressing the fear of this happening a long time ago on this forum, and only now has a warden decided to slap a ticket on his windscreen. If there was no CPZ in his road, I believe he’s legally allowed to park up to 500mm away from the kerb; but because he lives in a CPZ, even very close to the kerb is not good enough. If the legislation can’t be changed to allow a car parked in a CPZ to be a max of say, 300mm, away from the kerb, then the council should apply some commonsense and not penalise the owners of such vehicles. I bet the warden can’t wait to get round there tomorrow and slap another ticket on the windscreen – twit. |
