Maggie, I am afraid I can't agree with that POV. The point of CPZ is that everyone gets a fair shot at the limited available parking space. Your annual 45 quid (or whatever it is now) does not guarantee you a space - it just entitles you to use a space if you can find one. If we all drove huge cars there will be less space therefore it makes sense to set the width and length of the bays at a sensible size thus encouraging people who live in such areas of limited parking space to behave responsibly when choosing a car. If you live in an area where there is no shortage of parking space (and CPZ is not required) then by all means park a pantechnicon outside your house if you like. |
