Fraser wrote "This, however, will happen on the next government’s watch, which will allow Labour in opposition to dust-off and re-use the ‘Tory cuts’ and ‘Nasty Party’ mantras." Indeed. Every £ of debt that Gordon uses now to blunt the immediate effect of his recession will make the recovery longer and harder. The immorality of his position is breathtaking - he is prepared to sacrifice the next ten years of economic growth simply in order to give Labour a chance of regaining power. How many jobs and families will be sacrificed on that altar? But then his party often behaves like an addict who can't see past the short term fix to the long term damage that he's doing. |
