If they are too low then drivers coming through both junctions at a reasonable speed can’t see whether for not there is a green signal or a blank signal in adequate time to react accordingly. Don’t know why they didn’t do the third signal - will raise that with TfL. The Red shows fine and all that is needed to stop drivers out of either junction. If the green is fully shielded from the CHR junction then the possibility of jumping the lights in error is completely removed. Ah, Diccon, you’ve been to the country where drivers don’t stop for pedestrians on crossings… They do actually. I have thought for a long time that the French are better at road skills than we are. Perhaps it's their education? |
