Diccon You have observed correctly: TfL failed to meet any of the dates previously advised to the Council in respect of these signals installations - dates that I simply quoted in my posting back in February. Nowadays I am less inclined to be so confident… Here are the latest (hopefully achievable) predictions based on very recent information from TfL (NB; predictions…not promises): 1. Widening of the westbound approach to the roundabout to three lanes. Before end of this financial year. 2. Conversion of the zebra crossing east of Power Road to a pelican crossing. Mast arm installed over the weekend. Overhead signals should be operational before Christmas (‘06). 3. Gunnersbury Station crossing signals – completed earlier this year but recently fine-tuned with one signal pole relocated. 4. Installation of the pelican crossing east of Marlborough Road. Completed 3 August. A mast arm now appears unlikely; meanwhile the Council’s contractors are upgrading the north side footway in this area. 5. New pelican crossing outside the BMW showroom. Installation expected by end of this financial year. 6. Relocation of the traffic signals on the west side of the Acton Lane junction - should be completed by December/January. 7. Remaining line marking, signage, and coloured surfacing etc. Dependent on 1, 2, and 5, but if 2 is completed most of this work can be progressed - hopefully in January 07. |
